How does the Accord Sedan compare to the Optima?
Under the hood, there is a stark difference between these two top-level trims. The Optima SX Limited relies on a low displacement 4-cylinder engine that tries to put a big emphasis on its equipped turbo. Turbo equipped engines however, are often laggy and feel unresponsive when taking off from a dead stop.
The Accord Sedan Touring relies on a 3.5-liter V-6 powerhouse that doesn’t slow itself down with a turbo. In the end, the Accord Sedan Touring packs in 33 horsepower more than the Optima SX Limited can produce. This makes the Accord Sedan Touring more fun to drive from a stop light, out on the highway, and through twisty back roads.
When it comes to luxury, both of these top level trims are well equipped. They both have keyless entry, a power moonroof, heated mirrors, and more, but there are a few features that the Optima seems to forget even on its top-level trim.
One thing you may notice right away in the Optima SX Limited is the lack of a CD Player. If you still think that CDs are a great and convenient way to listen to music, then the Optima will not serve you well. However, the Accord Sedan Touring does include a CD player. In fact, the Accord Sedan Touring also includes 19” wheels, a universal garage door opener, fog lights, and a stereo anti-theft system. All of these features are not included standard on the top Optima trim.
