2017 Honda HR-V vs 2017 Mazda CX-3

Are you were looking for a compact crossover? Perhaps something smaller than a Honda CR-V or a Mazda CX-5? Then we have the comparison that you need to see. Here we will be putting two compact crossovers to the test in our 2017 Honda HR-V vs 2017 Mazda CX-3 comparison. Both of these impressive models have four doors while maintaining that crossover look with the full maneuverability of a car, but one comes out on top.

To keep things on a level playing field, we chose to compare the entry-level trims for both of these models. That means for the HR-V, we will be looking at the LX, and for the CX-3, we will be looking at the Sport. You can see both of these models side-by-side in the image here, or you can keep reading and see some of the comparison numbers for yourself.

How does the HR-V compare to the CX-3?

To really determine what compact crossover you want for yourself, you have to start asking why you wanted a compact crossover in the first place. Indeed they are affordable, as both these models could prove, but they also promise interior room without compromising the drive. The HR-V and the CX-3 both have maneuverability and their external dimensions are amazingly similar, but the true difference comes on the inside.

The interior of the HR-V LX is more adaptable with a 60/40 split folding rear seat, and it shows that off by having over 58 cubic-feet of cargo room or over 14 cubic-feet more than the CX-3 Sport. Passenger volume tells a similar story as the HR-V LX simply has more room than its Mazda competitor.

As you go up in trim levels, you will find that the HR-V routinely provides more interior room than the Mazda CX-3. If room is important to you, then you should definitely consider the 2017 HR-V. If you live in the Lafayette area, then you can come to Bob Rohrman Honda, and we will help you find the perfect trim level with the right options today!
